I believe its a decent school, but not great. Most of the CSU's are pretty good schools so I wouldn't worry much about that. The area right around the school is pretty weak, but its close to downtown which isn't bad. I thought about going there but chose Long Beach State instead...

I work in a San Jose, California school and am amazed at how well and quickly Asian, East Indian, and Arab immigrant students progress and learn English. By comparison, Spanish speaking students seem able to go through elementary, middle, and high school and still struggle with English despite having special bilingual classes. There are no bilingual classes for the other languages. Some Spanish speakers actually say we Americans shoiuld learn Spanish. What's the answer? Should we give up on teaching immigrant Hispanics English since they resist learning it?

They have made cities here in Southern California Little Mexico. I think we should cut the crap of coddling them and STOP all ESL classes and just immerse them into the English language. I think another problem is that culturally Mexicans (not all) do not think education is a high priority. They do not push their kids and are not involved in their education like other cultures are. They use school as a babysitting service while they go to work.

Restaurants will hire anyone, you don't even need papers. Try bussing a nice restaurant. The tips are great! My first job I was 14 1/2 at a 4 star Italian restaurant. I made $200 bussing one night from tips alone. It was because everyone in there was about to die and had too much money. It was great! Also try retirement homes.

Try calling around to tattoo shops, Most shops offer apprenticeships and train people from scratch on how to tattoo, Just gather up a few sketches and go form shop to shop asking if they offer apprentice ships, If one says no they might just have a full schedule so try another, If you finally land one you can expect to draw flash make stencils for tattoos being done, Answer phones and spend lots of time watching other artists, learning techniques and Also learning about cross contamination and sterilization, Some tattoo shops may charge for an apprenticeship but in most cases its paid off over time, Hope it helps and good luck =)

How you generate this portfolio is up to you - via school & classes, on your own, the result of a two, four or more year degree, whatever. Most artists would prefer to apprentice those with at least some demonstration of talent and skill. Showing where your strengths are and your interests will also help you find an artist who's best to get you into the field. If you want to do Japanese styles, for example, you'll probably be less interested in someone who specializes in portraits.

Always call from a pay phone and say that you wish to remain anonymous, because if you use your real name, you might lose your job!

ilike my driving teacher he 's really cool , i only have one more class :) his classes are probably the cheapest you 'll find too ($125 for all the classes) & you don 't have to pay him until you have finished every single class . his name is carl sundin . here 's his number if you 're interested 408-867-5370 . :)

San Jose and the greater metropolitan Bay Area has plenty of adult education classes. Start of by contacting the Metropolitan Adult Education Program. They should be listed in the phone book and easily contacted via the internet. They can send you a current class schedule where you can pick up credits for basic, core subjects and earn a GED. They also offer lots of specialized skills training in all kinds of careers and classes in the arts, drama, and other learning opportunities. And, yes, many of these classes are in the evenings.

I recently finished my driver's ed at Driversed.com but now I need behind the wheel training. The thing is, though, behind the wheel training for driversed.com is 320 dollars for the whole six hours and 98 dollars for 2 hour sessions. That's way too much for me. Anyone know of anything cheaper? Specifically in San Jose, California?

$320? A lot of the Vietnamese training schools in San Jose are around $200. I went to the VMD driving school on Senter, and it was $210. It might be a bit cheaper now that gas prices have gone down. I don't really recommend the VMD school though, because the teacher was kind of rude. I'm sure there are a lot of individual instructors that you can find too. My friend hired an individual instructor for about $180, but I do not know his name.

hello! i was wondering if there is any mma schools at san jose california i live around foxworthy avenue. and i want a school near my house that is in a good area. does anyone know of any places in san jose california where i could get some hours. id prefer animal shelters or anything having to do with animals but most places require you to be 18+. if not animals young kids would be great. ill do just about anything. please help! :) btw i go to a christian school
