I went to a predominantly Hispanic high school in San Jose, California and I would say no more than 10%-15% of the Hispanics in my school could pass for White if in White you also include people who look like they could come from the Mediterranean.

About 30% of "Hispanics" are INDISTINGUISHABLE from whites...Everyone just assumes only stereotypical "George Lopez" looking types are hispanic..A hispanic could look like Laura Bush..

They aren't passing for white they ARE white. Just becuase American media has decided Latinos are a race doesn't mean they are. Many many Latinos are primarily or completely of European descent (usually Spanish, Portugerse, Italian, and English). They look like mediterranian peoples becuase they ARE meditteranian peoples.

Hispanic people who can so called 'pass for White' usually ARE White racially! Remember Hispanic is not a race, neither is Latino. There are millions of full White Hispanics, mainly descended from Spain. To answer your question it depends on the country u go 2. Where i personally live, there are not many Hispanics. I have only met two, a Venezuelan and a Mexican and neither could pass for White. In Mexico for example, 10% of the population is White racially, whereas somewhere like Argentina, that percentage shoots up to over 90%. Southern Brazil also has a lot of White Hispanics, as does Costa Rica and Uruguay. The majority of Cubans living in the US (especially those living in Florida) are White racially also. That 10-15% is Really low. Probably because you live in California and most hispanics in Cali are Mexican. Most Mexicans have Aztec ancestry. These are the types of hispanics that are Always portrayed in ¨hollywood´...Another thing, you stated your question completely wrong. Hispanic or Latino is NOT a race. Hispanic only means that the person is from a Spanish speaking country. There are black, white, mestizo, and mullato hispanics. I live in Miami, where there is a majority of Cuban, Colombian and Venezuelans and I would say ALOT are white. Not ´look´ white, but are white. Remember, Hispanic means that they are from a spansh speaking country, while white pertains to race. Dont let screwed up Hollywood standard of what a hispanic person is ´supposed´ to look like interfere with the reality.
